The Selectivor team is dedicated to helping people with food allergy stay safe.
You're able to select any food as an allergy food if:
1. We have the food in our database and
2. It's a single ingredient food (meaning the food is not made of multiple ingredients).
Another situation that is not allowed under allergy is large categories like vegetable or fruit. You'll find many subcategories under each of these larger categories that you are able to select as an allergy.
The reason it's designed this way is that knowing which single foods are unsafe for you makes it much easier to make safer food choices. For foods that are made of multiple ingredients or large food groups, it's hard to tell which specific item(s) in that food or group is causing the food allergy. If you have a food allergy, it's important that you see your doctor to help identify the single agents/foods responsible.
We hope this helps!
